I like the type almost as much as I like the photo- It looks like the lower case e's must not have been working on the typewriter so they had to switch to a different one.

I had an old Underwood that I had to do exactly the same thing with: the lower case 'e' is the most used letter, and hence, wears out fastest.

I used to type so fast all the hammers would get stuck together and mess up my page. I'd spend more time untangling them and correcting the words than writing the letter. I for one am glad computers came along, what with all the correction tape and white out I used to use...
