The Baby

Here's another video from my home movie collection- this one's another 8mm film (circa 1960) of a baby that was accidentally double-exposed. I used vimeo rather than youtube and I think the quality is a bit better. I think I'll probably upload 24fps versions of all the films I transfer to Archive.org at some point though as I mentioned in the comments to the last post I probably won't be posting mp2s of the films.

The other nice thing about Vimeo is that registered users can download a quicktime version of the films, that are slightly higher quality.

Nolan- I certainly prefer vimeo though I'm not sure downloading the file will look that much better. At 15fps (what I uploaded to them) you're still going to see plenty of digital artifacts when viewed at full-screen size. Do you know if I can upload at 24fps rather than 15? I'm assuming that they're compressing the 15fps a bit anyway to get it to stream efficiently.

Hmm. Sorry, I don't know. I've always assumed the films you download are the same size and quality as the ones you upload, but I'm not certain.
