Nothing That Moves Misses Being Seen
Every time I go to a flea market I tell myself don't buy anymore photos of babies or little kids, no matter however abstract/surreal they may be. I have too many already and invariably every time I buy one as soon as I get home I'll take another look at the photo, kick myself for buying it, and throw it into the scrap box. Of course on Sunday I bought another one:

I didn't pick it up for the image though; I picked it up for the inscription on the back:

I'm guessing this is a quote from somewhere (it's just way too cool not to be) though a google search turned up empty- anyone recognize it? The photo probably dates from the early 1930s so it'd have to be from something before then. Anyway, I was so knocked out by the inscription that I let my guard down and bought these two inscriptionless photos from the same lot.

Hi, I think the inscription is merely that. A slightly upset and observant comment from someone attempting to take a long still photo of a child. The kid is very observant "not missing a thing" therefore his head is blurred. I assume the comment just happens to be very deep accidentally and its actually a way of him saying the kid wouldnt keep his head still. just my opinion. nice photos, I really dig the set of the elderly lady. I have a few old slide things full of mostly the "paid for" slides. Like those of disneyland and mount everest, hawaii etc. Most from the 50's 60's. I would love to submit them but am unable to photograph them or transfer them to digital. I also have a short stack of everyday life slides as well. Let me know if you are at all interested in doing that.

I agree with einstein on the quote...it means just that. By the looks of the direction in which the kid's head is facing, he was probably looking at someone/something walking by
