Back on the Dance Floor (Arthur Murray 3)

In case you weren't able to guess- I just came across a big lot of photos from the estate of a woman who I think was a dance instructor for Arthur Murray in the late 50s and early 60s (she's the woman in the third photo dancing with the guy in the dirty jeans). I love photos of people dancing- you get some great candid stuff as usually the people are too busy concentrating on the dance to worry too much about the camera.

It's finally here!

The 2nd Anniversary Spectacular has finally made it to Square America. As viewers of The Boat Lullabies already know it's made up of multiple shows (8 to be exact) totalling over 300 photos. I'm too tired to list them all- putting it together has been one huge pain in the ass- but I will mention that I did add one new one today- simply titled Recent Acquisitions, it's a collection of 40 of some of my favorite photos I've gotten over the last few months. Boat lullaby regulars may recognize some of them but most are being unveiled for the first time. Here are a few.

and just for you loyal Boat Lullaby viewers- here's one I was going to put in Catch of the Day and then decided to switch it to Recent Acquisitions but wound up leaving out of that as well but I still like it so here it is.

The Bottom Half

Another new show! The Bottom Half is my show focusing on the lower extremeties- legs, feet, and behinds. Faces are so overrated! Some of the photos are borrowed from Some Introductory Remarks on the History of Summer but here they are scanned bigger (and when it comes to the bottom half bigger is always better right?) and there are plenty of new ones too so head on over and check it out.

Catch of the Day

I just finished another new show Catch of the Day that will eventually be part of my second anniversary spectacular over at Square America. It's about 35 photos of fish- it's cooler than it sounds- I know the title's awful but I'm actually pretty happy with the show. Here are a few to whet your appetite.

Over the last couple of days I've also finished off Down By The Tracks and At The Window adding a few photos to each. I also significantly changed The Menagerie, my show of animal photos. I removed about 10 photos and added about 20 new ones so now it's almost 70 photos. I'm still not entirely happy with it- it's a lot less cute but it still lags a bit in the middle- but it'll certainly make to the main site now. I'm probably going to put together one more show for the 2nd Anniversary- as it stands now it's six shows- The actual anniversary was at the end of June so I'm a little bit late but the show I originally wanted to do was going to be called Mayhem and was going to be basically three sections- Sex, Violence, and Death. Unfortunately, circumstances (good stuff actually- more on that later) made me shelve that show for at least a few months so I've been playing catch-up. Hopefully I'll get everything up and linked to the site by early next week but you can see the shows now by clicking on the links above.
