The show goes on

While the Summer torpor and general indifference I've felt towards this site (and Square America as a whole) has by no means lifted I felt it was time to post some new stuff. I've been reluctant to add too much because the site needs a bunch of maintenance work that I have no interest in (and honestly no intention of) ever doing. It's mostly little stuff- updating links on old pages and stuff like that- but it seems to be more than I can be bothered with right now. More importantly I'm not sure what I have to gain by continuing to run the site but I'm going to keep it up a bit longer and see if I have a change of heart. Anyway, I've got a big backlog of square format photos I'll be adding to the Square America section of my main site of the same name. Instead of just dumping them right in (where they'll just get lost as that section alone has over 600 photos spread over 40 pages right now) I thought I'd post 40 or so of the best ones alone as a kind of temporary mini-show and then add them in to whichever page they'll be going to later on. Here are a few of the new ones.

Thank You for keeping your site going! I look at it often and truly believe that the pictures you post and photos like these are the most wonderful.

This site is amazing. It reveals knew things to me all the time. Closing this site down would be a great loss in the photography world. This is America.

I have to add my voice to the chorus, Nick. Please don't let your ennui and weltshmerz (or whatever you want to call it) prevent you from keeping this wonderful important site up and running. You have accumulated such an impressive and comprehensive collection and we are privledged to have you share it with us.
Not everyone who loves your site comes here every day for the same reason that they don't go to the Museum of Contemporary Photography every day, real art is not something that one is emotionally equipped to encounter on a daily basis. And your site is real and significant art.
Update it irregularly, neglect the links, do whatever you feel is neccessary to keep yourself going, but please don't give up on this site.
This ain't no funhouse baby, it's something much deeper and more real. Don't let it die. Just because you don't have a coterie of commenters doesn't mean folks don't love and appreciate it.
Sorry to get all maudlin and sincere, but the idea of your photos not being available when I need that draught of real America is quite disturbing. Keep on keepin on, por favor.

Hey, I just found your site by a link somewhere... I can't remember, I'm too aggressive a surfer, I suppose. Anyway, I love what you're doing. You have a superb and discerning eye for these images and I really appreciate what you bring to the table.

The photos themselves are incredibly inspirational and I'm thrilled to have found your site. I'll be including a link from my site when I get back to my normal computer.

Thanks for doing this!
