Photos by "Chico"
I just added a new show to The Pocket Galleries, my space for smaller shows over at Square America. It's a bunch of photos (mostly self-portraits) taken by a photographer whose nick-name was Chico. Most were contact prints dating from the 40s and 50s. Here's a little taste (Click here to see the whole show).

1 Year
I've just reached the one year mark over at Square America and so I just added a new anniversary show up in order to celebrate this august occasion. It's a mix of brand new photos, some photos from this site that for some reason never made it over to Square America, some photos that were once at square but had since been deleted, and a few photos I've posted on other sites such as Bighappyfunhouse and swapatorium. Here's a sample.

Happy Fourth of July!
I was digging around this morning looking for photos of flags and fireworks to post but then decided to post something a little different. A couple of days ago I got a box full of slides and home movies- About half of the reels of film were home movies of boy scouts but the other half were home movies shot at a beauty pageant at a nudist resort in Indiana (as well as the trailer for a porn film called "Hot Pants" in which none of the actors are wearing pants at all). There was also another box of porn films which I passed on. The slides, sadly, were all taken at the boy scout camp though the fact that they were taken by a weed-smoking (one of the films featured a great shot of a giant pot plant in his back yard) nudist/porn fiend gives them a slightly unsettling aura. Anyway, I figured what could more American to post on July 4th than some photos taken at a boy scout camp?

I'm Back
No need to drag the lake- I'm alive and well- I just took about six weeks off from the site in hopes of recharging my batteries. I was actually considering shutting down both this site and Square America but I decided to keep them running though I probably won't be updating them quite as often.
