The King of Cats

Saturday at the flea market I got some photos taken by a guy who really, really liked to photograph his cats. Unfortunately someone beat me to the box so I missed out on some really good ones. Here are a few of the ones I did get.

Wow. Cats in their natural habitat - asphalt, swings . Too bad you were pre-empted, but thanks for nabbing and posting these. This site is a mystery and a blessing - I return frequently.

Are those cyanotypes? And an albumen cabinet print? Of animals?

They're not scrap paper, by any stretch. Just sayin'.

Jan- Glad you like the site! Bill, those are indeed cyanotypes and the middle one is an albumen print. From what I could tell by looking through the box this guy printed most photos both ways- sadly most of the albumens suffered some serious fading. I missed out on a great cyanotype of a ferris wheel- and a couple of other nice cat cyanotypes as well- but the cat albumen posted here and the photo of the chicks posted above were my favorites of the lot so I didn't feel too bad.
